The Nudist Festival in Zipolite began with good expectations

ZIPOLITE, POCHUTLA.- Without prejudice and in total freedom, thousands of tourists arrived in Zipolite to be part of the eighth edition of the 2023 Nudist Festival, in which various artistic, recreational, sports, cultural and recreational activities will take place.
An event that began this Thursday, February 2 and will end next Sunday the 5th and from which a large economic benefit is expected for the Coastal region, from the nudist influx tourist destination, as well as other neighboring communities and vacation centers such as Huatulco and Puerto Escondido that will benefit.
More resources, more spills
It is an event supported, not only by the community, but also by the state government, through the Ministry of Tourism and which promises greater benefits for service providers due to the number of visitors who will enjoy the Zipolite 2023 Nudist Festival in its eighth edition. .
According to organizers, the nudist event that takes place in "La Playa Nudista de México", "is the largest worldwide", since nudism and naturism enthusiasts come from various regions of the country and from other countries.
The importance of the event is to such a degree that hotel occupancy is reflected at 100 percent from previous weeks, which gives a good perspective for the locals.
In lodging, Zipolite is at the top, destinations such as Mazunte, San Agustinillo, Puerto Ángel, among others such as Pochutla have registered with occupied rooms for the dates of February 2 to 5 while the nudist party is celebrated.
One hundred economic activation
The municipal authorities and organizers announced to the media about the logistics and security of the event and that the expectation in terms of economic benefits is estimated, only for the population of Zipolite, of more than 16 million pesos that falls on the service providers, restaurateurs, hoteliers and owners of all types of establishments, as well as carriers.
“It is a Festival that started from a dream, but that year after year has been strengthened for the benefit of the entire community, directly and indirectly. Not only the community of Zipolite, but also Puerto Ángel, Mazunte, Pochutla and other towns. From the tourist servers to the one who has a little shop or sells vegetables; we are all benefited in some way with an important economic benefit”, commented Minerva Pérez García, municipal president of San Pedro Pochutla.
A festival with more resources and better economic prospects
During the Nudist Festival there will be various recreational and sports activities, presentations by the cultural delegation, calendar, nudist parties, a nudist tour on a catamaran and the stellar presentation of the singers Patricia Alcaraz, Mariana Seoane and Los Ángeles del Puerto.
All the activities are promoted with resources granted by the state government through the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Oaxaca (Sectur), a dependency that contributed 800 thousand pesos, plus 732 thousand pesos with which the municipal government contributes to enhance a event with a better production than the previous one held in February 2020.
The representative of the State Ministry of Tourism based in the Coast explained that with the tourism potential that Zipolite has, "it is a priority in terms of tourism promotion for the state government" and explained that the state government will support destinations with a tourist vocation and not only to the consolidated ones such as Puerto Escondido and Huatulco.
Zipolite, tourist destination of "smooth wind"
The organizer of the event and president of the Zipolite Hotel Association, Jair Flores, declared that the objective of the Festival has been since its first edition and a year before, when the Sixth Latin American Nudist Meeting was held, "is to generate work and profits for providers of services, beyond the two important seasons for the destination, which are Easter and winter, which has been achieved through the bridge that is built with the festival”.
Jair Flores said that he has realized the exponential growth of the nudist tourist destination and that the interest as service providers is to attract tourism.
"We are a destination with many years of tradition and that handles nudism as a tourist product par excellence, it is our main strength and our main attraction, which is why the Festival is currently positioned as the largest tourism festival in the world", held.
Safe Nudist Festival
Regarding security, the organizers explained that it will be reinforced with the presence of the Municipal, State, Tourist Police, National Guard, SEDENA, Oaxaca Attorney General's Office, they will also have a space for legal guidance for tourists
Likewise, we will have the participation of operational areas of the City Council such as Civil Protection, Tourism and Health, and the support of the El Pochutleco Fire Department.
On the beach, the Los Delfines Lifeguard Corps, with 12 members, will be active throughout the day protecting the almost two-kilometre beach that makes up the Amor, Principal, Shambala and Camarón beaches; They will be supported by at least four towers and constant paths to safeguard the lives of visitors.
The lifeguards will carry out, during the festival, a campaign that they will call "Responsible Tourism", which will serve to raise awareness among walkers and provide preventive information to the thousands of visitors who will enjoy the nudist event that takes place after two years of pandemic.
