Fifteen earthquakes were recorded so far in the country during the first day of 2015 according to reports from the National Seismological Service (SSN). The first quake was recorded at zero hours and 10 minutes, with a magnitude of 3.8 degrees and whose epicenter was he placed 29 kilometers northeast of Mapatepec, Chiapas. According to the SSN, the epicenters of earthquakes in this January 1 were placed 6 in Chiapas, 5 Guerrero and 4 in Oaxaca, ranking in the latter state the highest intensity 3.9 degrees occurred at 07:41 hours, 83 kilometers southwest of Pinotepa Nacional. During 2014 7,422 earthquakes were recorded nationwide, of which 2,017 have occurred with epicenter in Oaxaca, corresponding to 27.17% of the earthquakes registered in the country. Chiapas ranked first seismic activity with 2,512 earthquakes, while Oaxaca was ranked second with 2,017 earthquakes, and Guerrero third with 1,393 earthquakes.
