A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

Attention. We are informed that the vado that built the SCT temporarily in the community of San Jose Chacalapa at this time of the afternoon has been overtaken by the water of the river as the rains continue. If you're going to transit from the coast to Oaxava or viceversa ppr this route 175 there's no way. Take your precautions.

Nos informan que el vado que construyó la SCT de manera provisional en la comunidad de San Jose Chacalapa en estos momentos de la tarde a sido rebasado por el agua del rio ya que las lluvias continuan.
Si vas a transitar de la costa a Oaxava o viceversa ppr esta via 175 no hay paso.
Tomen sus precausiones.

The rains follow, neighbors who live near rivers, creeks or slopes must not be at risk, the Municipal hostel is enabled or supported by family and friends do not put their lives and their lives in danger.

Siguen las lluvias, hay que prevenir a los vecinos que viven cerca de ríos, arroyos o laderas no se arriesguen, el albergue Municipal está habilitado o apoyense de familiares y amigos no pongan en peligro su vida y la de los suyos.
