A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

Carnival Announces Zipolite, from 1 to 5 November

>> From 1 to November 5 Zipolite, Pochutla held its first carnival which is already preparing for various events to take place in natural settings and puzzling Zipolite beach.

Pochutla, Oaxaca | The organizing committee Zipolite 111 Live Concert Stage Zipolite and have prepared a magical event, full of color, music and fun, as announced.

Besides sun, sand and sea, attendees 'Carnival Zipolite' enjoy sports, music, cultural, gastronomic to have a great time.

These events will be framed by magnificent natural scenery as the Island Beach and Playa Zipolite Communal Property Zipolite to be the ideal setting for football and volleyball tournaments and concerts Beach Tropical Music and Electronics and the mega monumental figures sand.

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS
The village of Zipolite is located 3 km west of Puerto Angel and nestling along 2.5 km of beach.

BY AIR: From Huatulco airport (45 kms) or Puerto Escondido (75 kms) daily flights from Mexico City and Oaxaca with Mexican Airline, Interjet and vivaaereobus and one hour arrived.

BY BUS: If you travel to Mexico City and southeast Mexico visit the following bus stations: Central Bus Taxqueña, Tapo, South Central and North Central there are direct buses to take Pochutla, Oaxaca. In buses or OCC Columbus Direct travel to Salina Cruz Pochutla passing (12 hours).

ROAD: Leaving the Mexico City and Edo. From Mexico, take the Mexico / Acapulco (Autopista del Sol) Acapulco reaching out into the world and take Imperial highway to Puerto Escondido National Pinotepan and Zipolite.

In Pochutla collective taxis and trucks passing commute to Zipolite.
