A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

I post WWW Oaxaca, Mexico, Zipolite and areas nearby information. Also general budget, backpacker, surfer, off the beaten path, Mexico and beyond, information.

REMEMBER: Everyone is welcome at Zipolite.

Dogs of Puerto Angel - DOPA

Dogs of Puerto Angel - DOPA

I posted two videos about Tyson today, but social media is unpredictable, and many of you may not have seen them. So I'm asking you to take a moment to read this.
Tyson belongs to an elderly woman who finds herself completely alone. Her dog survived distemper, a devastating disease that often leaves dogs with lifelong disabilities. Despite everything, Tyson is still here. He still has a chance at a good life.
He's unsterilized, so sterilization is our priority.
When I spoke with his owner, I gently offered humane euthanasia as an option if she felt she could no longer cope. She immediately began to cry. She loves Tyson deeply. She doesn't want him to die. She wants him to live. She wants him to thrive.
She didn't ask for much. She simply asked if, from time to time, someone could help her with a bag of dog food.
I wish I could do it myself, but I am already feeding and caring for 20 to 30 dogs and cats every month. My resources are stretched as far as they can go.
So today, I'm asking on Tyson's behalf.
Maybe there is someone out there who can sponsor his sterilization of 500 pesos, or a bag of food every now and then. Maybe someone can spare 290 pesos every 2–3 months for his deworming and parasite prevention medication so he can stay protected from ticks, fleas, and the diseases they carry.
It may seem like a small gesture, but to Tyson and his owner, it would mean everything.
Perhaps you are the person who can become Tyson's guardian angel.
If you would like to help Tyson, please send me a message.❤️ Every animal's story matters, and sometimes changing one life starts with something as simple as sponsoring just one dog.

Dogs of Puerto Angel - DOPA

 https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1LkyX7cBV3/

✨ Meet “Maravilla” ✨ This beautiful girl was abandoned in Colonia Guadalupe, on the outskirts of San Pedro Pochutla, Oaxaca. She was found wandering from house to house, desperately searching for food. She’s painfully thin, covered in ticks, and clearly hasn’t had an easy life… But she is going to be okay now.
This Tuesday, she will be sterilized with our vet Christian in Zipolite, and we’re looking for sponsors to help cover her spay surgery, which costs 500 pesos (29 USD). Every peso makes a difference when you’re rescuing animals with limited resources.
Maravilla also urgently needs a forever home once she has recovered and is fully healthy. She looks like a Belgian Shepherd mix and has so much potential to become an incredible companion.
Right now, my house has become a rehabilitation center, and we are running out of space. Rescue work on the Oaxaca coast is overwhelming, but dogs like Maravilla deserve a second chance.
Please help by:

Together, we can continue rescuing and sterilizing vulnerable dogs and cats on the Oaxaca coast of Mexico. 🙏🏽❤️🐾
