What is the closest airport to Zipolite?
Most visitors to Zipolite arrive by air at Puerto Escondido (PXM) or Huatulco (HUX). Huatulco Airport is closer and has several international connections to the United States and Canada.

This is the closest airport to Zipolite, just 41km away, approximately a 40-minute to 1-hour drive.
How much does a taxi cost from Huatulco Airport to Zipolite?

“Special” taxi or public transport
The taxi is taken from the airport and has an approximate fare of $600MXN to $1000MXN.
If you want to take public transportation, you'll need to leave the airport and take a van to Pochutla. The van line is called Rápidos de Pochutla. The cost is approximately $30-50 MXN. Getting off at the Pochutla intersection, take a collective taxi for approximately $30 MXN or a van for $15 MXN.
Puerto Escondido Airport
A little further away, as it is 73.6km away, with a journey time of approximately 1.30 hours.
How much does a taxi cost from Puerto Escondido Airport to Zipolite?
Special Taxi
You can take this bus leaving the airport on the federal highway. The approximate cost is $1,000 MXN to $1,500 MXN.
Public transport
You can take a taxi leaving the airport to the ADO/OCC terminal or Transportes Delfines (next to Chedraui). Either way, you'll need to take a bus to Pochutla (approximately $50) and ask to get off at the San Antonio intersection. There's an Oxxo (it's the only one on the highway along that stretch) nearby. From there, take a collective taxi ($30) or a van ($15) to Zipolite.

How to get to Zipolite from Oaxaca City?
Duration/km – 5h 55 min (258 km)
You have to cross the entire Sierra Madre Sur, where you can discover incredible mountain views. Just drive carefully and at low/moderate speeds, as this route has many curves, some of them very tight.
How to get to Zipolite from Mexico City?
Estimated time 11 h 32 min (717 km)
You'll have two options: one via Puebla-Oaxaca-Pochutla-Zipolite. Or the second via Cuernavaca-Acapulco-Pinotepa Nacional-Puerto Escondido-Zipolite.
From Acapulco
8 h 16 min (460 km)
The route along the entire Mexican Pacific coast.
From Puebla
9 h 56 m (593 km)
You'll have to pass through the city of Oaxaca, so you can stop for breakfast or lunch.
How to get to Zipolite from Puerto Escondido?
Approximately 1 h 31 min (72.1 km) you will take the federal highway towards Pochutla and before arriving you will find the San Antonio Tonameca intersection, you will have to go to the right (there is an Oxxo on the corner) towards Mazunte, you will pass this magical town and arrive at Zipolite.

From Mexico City and Puebla, the journey takes approximately 11 to 13 hours.

You can take a collective taxi to Zipolite which costs approximately $30 MXN ($1 USD) and takes approximately 30 to 50 minutes.
