A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .
Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before. Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.I post WWW Oaxaca, Mexico, Zipolite and areas nearby information. Also general budget, backpacker, surfer, off the beaten path, Mexico and beyond, information.REMEMBER: Everyone is welcome at Zipolite.ivan

Hola!
When I first started planning my move to Mexico City, I found it really difficult to find resources in English. It took a while to find the best books and websites that were helpful and not totally out of date.
These are the absolute best blogs, books, and guides that I could find and that I still sometimes use when I want to find something new.
- Mexico City: A Travel Guide (my ebook to the best of the best in the city updated in January 2019!)
- Lonely Planet Mexican Spanish Phrasebook https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1743214480/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1743214480&linkCode=as2&tag=laurabronner-20&linkId=6af875075b9f2bf4d953cb45a81988e2
- Mexico City: An opinionated guide for the curious traveler https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1511448334/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=laurabronner-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=1511448334&linkId=1f3f5e9d4f45b31dc6caa856bcb39396
- Wallpaper City Guide: Mexico City https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0714869570/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0714869570&linkCode=as2&tag=laurabronner-20&linkId=ec98b3ef4254740b41d146717a4f7f4a
- Lonely Planet Mexico
- TimeOut Mexico City (If you don't speak Spanish, use Google Chrome and it will translate the website for you really well).
Like I mentioned the other day, I also love using Instagram as a way to find out what's new in the city, what restaurants to check out, and what cool local sites to explore. The best part is, photos require no language skills!
Of course, I'm constantly adding more (hopefully) helpful content to Eternal Expat about Mexico City. Keep your eyes peeled for updates and let me know if you have any questions about planning your trip to CDMX!
Speak Soon,
Laura
