#CivilProtection || Rescue in #Zipolite and #damage in the #Isthmus due to
strong #swells on the coasts of Oaxaca
The State Coordination of Civil Protection and Risk Management (CEPCyGR) reported
that the swell phenomenon will continue to impact the coasts of Oaxaca for the next
three days, creating hazardous conditions for residents, tourists, and those engaged
in maritime activities. The warning was issued after rescue teams responded to an
incident at Zipolite beach, where lifeguards assisted swimmers who entered the water
despite warning signs.
According to the agency, the oceanic event is causing high waves, rip currents, and
variations in sea level, especially on open beaches along the Oaxacan coast. Authorities
reiterated their call to avoid walking on breakwaters, seawalls, and rocky areas, and to
follow the instructions of Civil Protection and Port Captaincies.
