Most visitors to Zipolite arrive by air at Puerto Escondido (PXM) or Huatulco (HUX). Huatulco Airport is closer and has several international connections to the United States and Canada.

If you want to take public transportation, you'll need to leave the airport and take a van to Pochutla. The van line is called Rápidos de Pochutla. The cost is approximately $30-50 MXN. Getting off at the Pochutla intersection, take a collective taxi for approximately $30 MXN or a van for $15 MXN.

Special Taxi
You can take this bus leaving the airport on the federal highway. The approximate cost is $1,000 MXN to $1,500 MXN.
Public transport
You can take a taxi leaving the airport to the ADO/OCC terminal or Transportes Delfines (next to Chedraui). Either way, you'll need to take a bus to Pochutla (approximately $50) and ask to get off at the San Antonio intersection. There's an Oxxo (it's the only one on the highway along that stretch) nearby. From there, take a collective taxi ($30) or a van ($15) to Zipolite.

You have to cross the entire Sierra Madre Sur, where you can discover incredible mountain views. Just drive carefully and at low/moderate speeds, as this route has many curves, some of them very tight.

You'll have two options: one via Puebla-Oaxaca-Pochutla-Zipolite. Or the second via Cuernavaca-Acapulco-Pinotepa Nacional-Puerto Escondido-Zipolite.
