A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

Uno de los lugares más impresionantes de México  esto es Punta Cometa, Oaxaca  el punto más occidental del Pacífico Mexicano.

Punta Cometa es el territorio que más sobresale en el mapa de la Costa Oaxaqueña y gracias a esta ubicación geográfica, es de los pocos lugares donde se puede apreciar la salida y puesta de sol por el mar.  

Punta Cometa se ubica en el pueblo mágico de Mazunte y para llegar a este extremo es necesario hacer un poco de senderismo, caminar sobre la montaña frente al mar hasta llegar al último acantilado para recargarse de energía y apreciar la majestuosidad del Oceáno Pacífico. 

Es el único lugar de México donde verán llegar a cientos de turistas sólo para ver el atardecer, fenómeno que se convierte en un espectáculo todos los días.

Punta Cometa is the territory that stands out most on the map of the Oaxacaña Coast and thanks to this geographical location, it is one of the few places where you can appreciate the sunrise and sunset by the sea.
Punta Cometa is located in the magical village of Mazunte and to reach this extreme you need to do a little hiking, walk on the mountain facing the sea until you reach the last cliff to recharge energy and appreciate the majestic d of the Pacific Ocean.
It's the only place in Mexico where you'll see hundreds of tourists arrive just to watch the sunset, a phenomenon that becomes a spectacle every day.
