A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

Nosotros somos el Reggae Bar La Isla en Zipolite, Oaxaca México.

La semana pasada, nuestra playa de Zipolite ha sido azotada y devastada por el huracán Agatha.

El huracán ha dejado en ruinas tanto nuestro hogar como nuestra fuente de trabajo.

Nosotros les estaremos inmensamente agradecidos por cualquier apoyo que nos puedan brindar.

El dinero recaudado será exclusivamente para la reconstrucción de nuestro hogar y el bar de ustedes que estará ahí para mandar como siempre buenas vibras a todos

We are the Reggae Bar La Isla in Zipolite, Oaxaca Mexico.

Last week our Zipolite beach has been hit and devastated by Hurricane Agatha.

The hurricane has left both our home and our source of work in ruins.

We will be immensely grateful for any support you can give us.

The money raised will be exclusively for the reconstruction of our home and your bar that will be there to send good vibes to everyone as always.
