Because the beach of love in Zipolite is already more famous for making the name that the place bears by some visitors, local authorities announced that all people caught having sex on the beach of love will be subject to a fine of five thousand pesos and community work.
According to the local authorities, Zipolite is recognized for being a nudist beach, not an exhibitionist, a place where nudism is practiced without morbidity, so misrepresentation of that purpose in sexual acts should not be allowed.
This decision, they indicated, was made because some people visit Playa del Amor to have sex, both as a couple and in groups, which they consider gives a bad image to local, national and international tourists.
In addition, the beach hours were limited from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and visitors must keep the place clean.
Another of the regulations is that nudism will be allowed on both Playa del Amor and Shamabala, as well as in restaurants that so determine, although "it is forbidden to walk naked in the streets of the community."
