A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

This weekend I’m giving everything of myself to offer a free sterilization campaign for dogs and cats in Puerto Angel (just outside Zipolite) and in San Antonio, Tonameca (just outside Mazunte). I am a volunteer who wants to encourage a culture of sterilizing pets in order to control the overpopulation and suffering of stray animals here. I give my money, my time, my everything to all the animals from Pochutla to Mazunte and beyond all while trying to fulfil the obligations of my full-time job. 

If there is someone who is skilled in filming who can offer an hour to film the volunteer work I'm doing to help the local communities here, please contact me and join us this weekend. My goal is to bring awareness and support for this cause because I cannot do this alone!

(I will not advertise the details of the sterilization campaign on social media yet as I am trying to give an opportunity to people without resources and without social media to bring their animals. So please don’t ask for details here. Thank you.)

Hola grupo! Este fin de semana estoy dando todo de mí para ofrecer una campaña de esterilización gratuita para perros y gatos en Puerto Ángel (en las afueras de Zipolite) y en San Antonio, Tonameca (en las afueras de Mazunte). Soy una voluntaria que quiere fomentar una cultura de esterilización de mascotas para controlar la sobrepoblación y el sufrimiento de los animales callejeros aquí. Doy mi dinero, mi tiempo, mi todo a todos los animales desde Pochutla hasta Mazunte y más allá de todo mientras trato de cumplir con las obligaciones de mi trabajo. 

Si hay alguien con experiencia en filmación que pueda ofrecer una hora para filmar el trabajo voluntario que estoy haciendo para ayudar a las comunidades aquí, comuníquese conmigo y únase a nosotros este fin de semana. ¡Mi objetivo es crear conciencia y apoyo para esta causa porque no puedo hacer esto sola!
