A little while back, my wife J and I got to spend a while in Zipolite on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Zipolite is one of the few beaches in Mexico that takes naturists. The beach is dotted with pubs, restaurants, resorts, fishermen, expat North Americans, expat Italians and happy Mexicans giggling at our dearth of shame.
Days in Zipolite immediately slipped into a meandering rhythm of skinny dipping, drinking and laughing. I spent my mornings running on the playa followed by skinny dipping and nude sunbathing. J and I rented a bungalow on the hill overlooking the naked Mexiac strand.
Zipolite Mexican Nudist Unclothed Beach
We’d a hammock, a bed, an outdoor kitchen area instead of much more, not even a door.
I spent my time at the bungalow nude, loving the sea breeze. J generally wore a sarong. There’s loads to eat along the playa and in town where we found Mexican and Italian food.

Here are a few selections from my journal composed during our week in Zipolite:

Monday day was spent with J in the hammock. Then we walked the duration of Zipolite. We caught a sunset from the Eastern end where we drank Cornonas and saw silhouetted fishermen finish their day’s work perched on the giant boulders that protrude in the surf.
Dinner at a beachside restaurant and then back to the bungalow for some reading. J attempted to see TV on the notebook but it didn’t work out. I’m not certain I’m unhappy about that.
Tuesday, today. I woke at 6:30 and went to the strand for a skinny dip. I am not sure the naturist thing will work out well here. Not many individuals appear to be doing it. I’ve seen maybe less than a dozen nudies, all men, and one topless woman. Right now I’m happily roasting in the early morning Mexican sunlight.

Wed to the most wonderful person anyone has ever met.
Issues Pertaining to Public Nudity took her top off yesterday!
Nudist Portal Establish Ask A Nudist & Have A Radio Interview didn’t always anticipate that to happen while we were here. There were sons around the second time she went topfree and she said, I ‘ve to get over myself, as she shed her sarong.

Topfree / Topless Girl at Zipolite Mexican Bare Beach
Had yet another excellent breakfast with J yesterday morning. Naturally, the ATM was broken. 15 miles, a trip to San Pedro Pechutla and $200 Pesos after, we had cash.
Our taxi driver kept teasing us to have him drive us to the airport by the end of our trip. Dwelling is a long ways off, we’ll see.
(Later) I could get used to this. Had a pleasant, leisurely two mile run and then a skinny dip. I could readily run 21 miles per week and still have so much time for myself. Breakfast, drinking, dinner will all be outstanding. What else will I do? Read? Swim more? All I want is all around me.

Up before sunlight today. Roosters everywhere. Had yet another excellent day with J yesterday. I believe it is second nature now, and I assume she will wear the sarong with no bikini top and that will be that.
Spent the day on the plage. We made plans to check out Shambala, but rather we laid in the hammock. Then it was back to the sand for sunset. We got quite drunk at a pub run by a Chicagoan named Kevin. So drunk that we didn’t have as much money as we would have liked for dinner and spent every last cent on a bottle of wine and two platters. We walked back on the plage, me naked and then J collapsed into bed while I pretended to stay up but collapsed into the hammock. I anticipated to be hungover today but I appear to be good.

Roosters woke me again this morning. I’m adoring waking up with the sun but I wonder if it would alter if I lived here.
Yesterday, J awoke with a hangover and we took a boat tour. We saw the Indio and the Mono (Indian and Monkey) stone formations. Then we quit for snorkeling. Next up one other passenger and myself scaled a stone formation and jumped off.
Afterward J and another passenger decide to jump too. Afterward the guide did another flip. We got a ride back to Zipolite in a very stereotypical camion.
Dinner at La Provencia. We had a bottle of Spanish wine. Appetiser were a bean pate and goat cheese with beets croquette. J had a mezcal cream sauce chicken and I had an eggplant dish with a provencal bean salad.

Had a breakfast of chilaquiles at a place called A Pleasant Place on the Plage. We discussed our future: Kids, opening a pub, moving out of the town. We ran into The Norwegians, a couple from the tour on Thursday. We discussed with them for a short time.
Then it was onto the ATM in Porto Angel, which was actually working yesterday. We grabbed a snack of tlayudas de nopales on the road. Then we returned to our bungalow with our friends for Havana Club daiqueries. Lots more amazing conversation. It ends up that Thomas is a chef and understands Eleven Madison Park, among other NYC eateries, so he understood how well-known J is.

The last full day in Zipolite was amazing. I did the normal, wake up, run, skinny dip. J went for an hour or so and a half massage while I lay naked on the strand. Dinner was straightforward pizzas and micheladas on the main street.
Monday morning in Zipolite, we woke up and lay in the hammock for a bit before leaving. It was a wonderful excursion.

The Never Ending Cycle Of Drama From Vita Nuda is civilized?
If you see Zipolite, it’s important to remember it is not Cancun. There are no ATM’s in town. The nearest one is several miles away and it wasn’t working on one of the days we went to get money. While the individuals are totally friendly toward North Americans, it helps if you can talk a fair amount of Spanish. It’s also vital that you notice that Zipolite just isn’t a private or sanctioned naked beach. Nude Summer Occasions Roundup For July and August is taken by the locals, but not shielded and very few people strip down and not many girls go topfree. All of it comes down to how comfortable you’re being naked among folks in cloths.
It appears to me that naked is something to be laughed at in Mexico. The people are definitely more prude than North Americans in terms of keeping themselves in cloths, but they are not almost as judgmental of nudies. They might point and laugh but, if you’re confident enough to see the silliness in wearing clothes in the hot sunlight, it is possible to laugh together, and everything will be fine.
