Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

Rehabilitate public library in Zipolite

SAN PEDRO POCHUTLA .- After the disclosure on social networks about the infrastructure of the Zipolite library space that is in poor condition; Municipal authorities of San Pedro Pochutla pay attention to assess and rehabilitate them for the safety of their users.

After the morning of last Sunday, February 3, the account of the social network Facebook of "Fer Bicitarte" published with the title "Help the # Library of # Zipolite", to publicize the conditions under which find the library facilities of that community.

The signaling was made within the framework of the closing of the 2019 Nudist Festival held in Zipolite, which stated that "Because # Zipolite is not only nudism, beach, sun and surf, it is also culture".

The message sends the invitation for the library to be enriched with material and rehabilitation of the infrastructure; "There are missing stories for children and reconstruction of the building," he says.

The directors of Public Works and Civil Protection participated in the supervision, who will make the corresponding assessment of the valuation of the property for its rehabilitation; because the damages that it presents are due to the age of the infrastructure; as well as the environmental burdens, earthquakes and above all the high degree of salinity due to the proximity to the sea.
