AURORA!
We've had a couple of good shows over the past couple of days -- with more expected.
Hostelers delight in seeing these displays, and we've been checking a couple of web sites with forecasts to try to help predict if and when the Northern Lights are going to come out. We've relied on the UAF Geophysical Institute's site, which uses a score of 1 - 9. It has been good, but we've noticed that a "3" may be a good display, but sometimes a "2" is great.
Since March of this year, we've been checking out NOAA's site. It has been pretty accurate, so far.
It takes a little work to calculate the day/time (UT is GMT -- or 9 hours ahead of us); but it's worth a look at its 3-day forecast. (It also has a 30-minute forecast).
