A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

Toronto to Huatulco flights with Air Canada

Air Canada Vacations are flying out of Toronto with direct fights Saturdays to Huatulco, Dec 22 to April 06. Hotel package or flight only. You can also search from other airports across Canada using this route via Toronto, they match up the flights not too bad.

Awesome! The more options for getting to Huatulco the better.

What are the prices like? Flying out of Canada is always so expensive.

There are 2 options, Air Canada Vacations where you can book AI's and short stay air only or Air Canada.com where you can book on a scheduled flight. (Same flights) A friend booked 6 weeks starting in mid Jan and got a return all in for $832 and a few pennies. Guess A/C wants to buy a bit of market share initially. Great for those who want to trave between Dec 22 and Mar 30 from Toronto.

Not sure why they are not going out of Montreal as many folks travel to HUX from there.
