A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

I post WWW Oaxaca, Mexico, Zipolite and areas nearby information. Also general budget, backpacker, surfer, off the beaten path, Mexico and beyond, information.

REMEMBER: Everyone is welcome at Zipolite.

I'm looking for a place to watch the game in Santa Cruz, we used to watch it at Prairie Dog but it's now shut down. Wouldn't be to crazy about Senor Pucks.

Don't think there is any place to watch the games in Santa Cruz anymore. Senior Pucks isn't far away and we find it quite an enjoyable place to watch games. They also have pool tables and TV's outside to shoot a few games while watching.

Los Portales, Kabana, Dublin all had the game on last year.

For superbowl Senor Pucks would be my choice. Although not a sports fan we had Christmas dinner there are were impressed totally. (did a post on that)
You can be in the bar or on the patio lounge. Play pool at intermission or during the game if it is boring. The food is great. Probably the best "sports" bar in the area. At least 4 big screen TV's with 2 being on the patio lounge wall.
Most of the other options posted are great spots to be too.
The Canadian Club in Santa Cruz will probably have the game on. Might also be on in the lobby bar of the Hotel Castillo.
