Latin America, me gusta!
Welcome to Miami! When I was planning my trip, I had not thought so good that India and Central America to travel the easiest is by digging a big hole and jump in it, either, the two extreme of the world. I saw only two interesting destinations. Anyway, after 10hrs taxi in India Shuttle, 8 o'clock flight to Moscow, and then another couple of hours waiting 11am fly farther I finally there: Miami! Chantal, my friend who will accompany me for 4 weeks, here has a stopover en route from 10am to Nicaragua. That seemed to me a good reason to make a trip to sticking and to visit the city of my teenage dreams. As I already dancing, watching MTV with Will Smith sang "in the city where the party is on, all day on the beach till the breakdown: I'm going to Miami!" (Popular hit song when I was 14 or something) The first thing I heard when I came in Miami 'Welcome to Miami! " the customs man. He certainly knows the music video also where it is sung loudly. Miami is also the same as in the video clips. Extremely luxurious (sports) cars with hip-hop from the open windows, an unwise beautiful white beach and the evening dress to kill 'when going out. Of course I had to a Miami party meepakken. Especially for the occasion are purchased unwise high heels, I was told that you only came in with high heels. I think they can certainly do not appreciate my Teva sandals or running shoes. (I'm going to this trip for practical) The club was beautiful and luxurious. You will understand that: a 360 degrees change in India. In Beijing I was also in the same kind of clubs. Beautiful and luxury is quite a bit the same everywhere, for this you do not have to travel the world. Well delicious danced with a local big mama who told me: Ooh noo man im 53! After a month total zenheid in Rishikesh I was quite ready for a dance and I had still sustained well all night despite the jet lag and the high shoes. The highlight of Miami, however, was a child of 5 years old who really was dancing / twirken for connoisseurs, as a possessed in a clothing store. Truly a Facebook / Youtube stunner. Very nice living his music video, but again enough for me two days plastic life. On to the next adventure! Nicaragua - Bailamos In Nicaragua, I could put my heart back in about a culture and authenticity. We started in San Juan del Sur, a village with all incredibly beautiful surf beaches nearby. Chantal here has shown her surfing skills. I saw the waves and I let this moment pass me by. Since my India adventure I enjoy very simply sit on the beach and watch the waves or other natural beauty around me. I enjoyed myself so fine watching the sea and the surfers. ;-) Then we went to an island with two volcanoes. We sat there in a huge beautiful jungle setting. I had the evening surrounded by nature yoga done under the stars, it was really, really nice! The next day was my birthday and we climbed a volcano. We did this with a group from the hostel. Nature was really unwise beautiful: we walked through the jungle and banana fields to the middle of the volcano which was a nice lake. We climbed so high that at one point we were literally in the clouds, it was really, really cool! Unfortunately, the clouds also brought moisture with it and the volcano was higher, the more slippery. Because we in mega high tempo 8 hours long hike were doing, I barely had time to look closely at where I was going and I really many times with my butt landed in the mud. Because I always had to look at the floor it was difficult to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, as we walked so fast. I must admit that I might have become an old nag because there I could to annoy me terribly. I always thought of people do take it easy and enjoy the view! There were people around me also always talking, which I found quite annoying because I secretly wanted to listen to the birds. Well it may sound very silly but I can since India really, really enjoy the peace and nature. Or maybe I've become a year older? Fortunately (for Chantal) I also know very well how to throw a party. Only I'm not from sitting and drinking. In Granada, a beautiful place where we were then, but they partied my way: (salsa) dancing! Really, I felt at home there! Everywhere they turn lively Spanish music, anywhere in Nicaragua all the way into the buses etc. In our hostel they offered lessons in salsa. Well that was still getting used to for me because I enjoy so used to dance with a partner, I'd rather dance alone, but it was all fun. evening we went with the salsa group at a local beach club where the dances were continued. There I could happily again nice to do my own thing. The salsa teacher stood in front of me and was just busy trying to figure out what dance I did well: rumba? No, I simply just my own thing! At one point asked a local boy to me: Bailamos? What I only know the song of Enrique Iglesias and not the exact meaning of knew. Then he asked again what so I just bijhaalde my interpreter Chantal. He apparently asked my name. At that moment I really felt a huge illiterate and I decided anyway to really make anything of my work immensely poor Spanish. Now I know by now that 'Bailamos' let / we shall mean dancing and that cozy dance culture here in Central America quite my thing is: me gusta Honduras - If the guide After quite a lot of hours in the bus have spent we were our next destination: Uitla in Honduras. A beautiful Caribbean island which is especially known for diving (relatively cheap). Coincidentally, one of my biggest passions! I felt there like a fish in water. Enjoy the beautiful coral, fish and even the bubbles from other divers are already very beautiful. Besides diving, we also made a day trip to an amazing beautiful uninhabited island where we had transformed into a palm tree bar and served to the sea terrace. It's kind of life in the guidebook that still pleases me more than life in the video clip. Another night we had a booze cruise and we sailed with the submarine around while enjoying a drink, dance and fun. Very nice and fun, but after a week we had both seen with all the pomp pearl (sea): next chapter Guatemala - Put your best foot forward, sings in a choir elephant! Okay, there are no elephants in Guatemala . On that tiny detail after this great country makes me very to the Disney classic "Jungle Book" thinking. Really a very beautiful jungle and caves which we already hikend, with a small boat and have admired from the buses. The buses here are indeed an adventure in itself. Every time you think you've seen the worst, hear no then it can be just a great worse. Overcrowded buses, crowded buses with a mini village next to anything but mini sweaty man Guatemala, the same crowded buses with a tip of a chair just outside the door which is open to people who are standing there again. Anyway, the concept of carpooling may arise here: the buses are utilized to the fullest anyway! It strikes me really far on how many different kinds of "Pollo" (Chicken) fast food they have: Super Pollo Pollo Roy etc etc. Anything else strikes me is that quite often on t salad menu but they have never actually. Another substantial change of India, in a place where I was vegetarian / vegan food more norm than the exception. My neighbor on the bus, the portly (understatement) man looked in disbelief at my yoga mat. He thought that I had with a thin sleeping mat, the yoga concept he had never heard of. A girl who was also in India asked me if they also have yoga here .. Well Yoga is hard to find. But you'll get an extremely beautiful jungle with super beautiful birds, scary tarantulas, monkeys (though I may no longer so since all the attacks in Rishikesh), very beautiful Mayan ruins and friendly people in return. The guide at the Tikal ruins where we had a sunset tour told us how he used to live in this jungle, before they were forced to move to the city since the jungle, their home, became a national park. Of course I am very happy that we now all of this wonderful piece of nature and history can enjoy, however t remains crooked that people just have to leave their home and lost to live in a city. Where they have no future because of a lack of schooling. School money and you did not need in the jungle, there was all what a man needs. Anyway, if we do open book of crooked things in the world we can go on forever. I do not do: Once again this was a great country Belize - Tranquila My adventure with Chantal we end up in Belize, a Caribbean island with charm all its own again. English is the language of instruction go hand in hand with reggae music. 99% of the music which is played is derived from Bob Marley. Right at the border crossing reggae note was already used by the radio in the van, I feel therefore I was in Jamaica. Not that I've ever been there, but if large music / UB40 fan you relate me that reggae culture because "Kingston Town" The place I love to be "known song about the reggae band on the capital of Jamaica. Anyway, this island was in my eyes the most beautiful island I've ever been. Although I have that feeling again and again if I'm in a new place so take my opinion especially for granted. Tranquila is something they get there with the porridge spoon cast. No, this is not some kind of tequila you drink with a lime and a portion of salt. It is a statement which is used to indicate that you should do particularly easy. If you walk a little too hard on the island has been established that you should not run, "Tranquila". A sort of zen-like idea what I know from India, but in the reggae culture. I feel stomps Tranquila from the day after the tequila, since I after a night of too much rum (the water there on t island) and fruit punch well understood how anyone could be so slow all day. Something with the male variant of the cat ... Besides Tranquila mindset and guides paradise Belize has a tourist highlight namely the freely-priced diving spot Blue Hole. Of course we could not pass us go this spot because that was the reason for which we came to Belize. We heard mixed stories of the money now was not worth it. The funny thing was that we came back as sober Dutch with "it's beautiful, but so mega extreme not ending." The next day our French roommate, also a diving instructor with mega much diving experience and came back: "it was so awesome!". He wondered why we were not so mega enthusiastic. I think that is still a culture verschilletje again, we enjoyed as sober Dutch girls but to cry right now from rooftops how great it was ... but it was certainly unwise nice (eg we saw sharks and Rayen): us deepwater highlight of the trip together! From Belize Chantal returned home and then took the bus flew to Mexico with Katy (girl from California who we know were in Guatemala) for my last chapter of this trip. Mexico - the country of my dreams! Rebirth in Tulum Tulum has everything that I like yoga, diving, mega beautiful beach, good healthy food and a laid back hippie vibe. The first day I visited the ruins with Katy and I dive mega gift made in the caves. To my surprise, all the caves completely different inside. My first dive was exciting because my dive master with whom I dove went to see if I had enough experience to do the heavy caves. He felt happy that I ducked right and then the next day we are together viewed the caves with names like "The temple of dome". Sneak a little further than was allowed, a mega special experience. It seemed as if I was playing in a movie or video game. My temporary travel companion went from Tulum to another coastal town. My feeling, however, said I wanted to Palenqui, a town in central Mexico, in the middle of the jungle which is known for its Mayan ruins. So I just decided to stay in Tulum where I enjoyed the last days of his very own. Mega Sounds silly, I like a lot of all the lovely people at home, but sometimes I can really enjoy being alone. And do exactly what I feel like. So I've Tulum, as befits a true Dutchman, still wonderfully explored on my bike. So I "accidentally" in a Maya Spa came true that evening "accidentally" took place Termazacal session. This is a sweat lodge, a kind of natural sauna of clay where the sauna-goers a sort of covering media session took place. All of this had a more spiritual slant of the Mayan culture. The session was 80% in Spanish and since I did not get much further than what is your name, I'm vegetarian and I come from Netherlands with my Spanish I had to do it mostly on my feelings. We threw in a dark hut water over us with sprigs of herbs, we sang mantras and played our instruments. Oh yeah, well it was mega hot. We did four sessions, the four elements: earth, water, air and fire. I thought after the third session of now they have to overly again by saying that t was hard. It was hot okay, but doable. Until the last session: fire. I heard him say in Spanish that you could lie down as was overweight, he said to me in English but I had to just sit there. Since my Spanish is still a lot left to the need, however, I thought the session would throw consist of two rounds of water (the hardest part). However, after the first round we all could lie and it appeared to have already ended. At that time, I was enormously relieved that we did not have another round and had my poor Spanish nice helped me throughout the session. Namely, I was mentally preparing for another round and thought how I'm going to persevere in God's name, which fortunately did not happen. According to the Mayan culture, his session is a "rebirth." For me it was a lovely start to follow the total travel on intuition, no guidebook or plans, but my feeling now who said I need to Palenqui. Palenqui - Civil waterfalls prove adventure there I was after my night bus to 8 hours in the morning, in "Jungle Paradise", a park with cabins in the middle of the jungle, which is one of the people whom I had met had recommended me. (Where I lay awake through the evening then t roar of the monkeys) A little lost, for travel on intuition meant that I had no idea what exactly I was doing there, what to do was or where I was going. I wanted to do something, so I decided to give up the only tour that started at 12am. On to the waterfalls, the idea might meet nice people who could tell me again what I had to do. A little crooked because I was actually just fine on the road in my book by Paulo Coelho, benefit only that I have finally read great time. Deep inside I still had to have more sense with my book instead of with other people. Anyway, the troubled Nikita apparently still lives in me for 12 hours so I was ready for the tour with a Korean girl. The van picked us up, full of old people. Well, that looked anything but adventurous off. Anyway, on the way to the falls. The waterfalls were once again beautiful and the tour turned out a great adventure ... Korean girl (who turned 34), my companion was this trip: I drink a coconut, she drinks a coconut: I eat mango, mango she eats: she takes a picture with a peace sign, I take a picture with a peace sign (I felt like a happy Barbie doll on the posed photos but good): I was thinking of gosh I want a picture in the water at the falls: they wanted the same picture. Until she suddenly went ducking and started struggling: it turned out that she could not swim and the water was pretty deep. I am a little longer and may swim, which details she had just about t overlooked .. They almost drowned and I could not do anything but the water indentation. Well, I wanted adventure there was adventure. I must honestly confess themselves not to be the best swimmer but when the emergency call apparently did. The Korean still alive and civil waterfall had an adventurous twist. Anyway Back to nature ... The restaurant then I was nice to read when a local man started a chat about my book. He is a guide who gave jungle tours. The tour turned out to be exactly what I wanted: we were calm and he would tell you more about natural medicines, Mayan culture and the jungle itself. Although I'm a little finished studying, I strongly consider going on a training course in natural medicine do this tour therefore spoke to me very much. It was exactly what I was looking for: we went very quiet on our barefoot through the jungle. This man had in very interesting conversations about the world, life and nature. Mother Earth or Mother Earth has everything we need. Food, natural medicines and jacuzzi of waterfalls. Everything you see living together in a balance, in The Circle of life - what Mr. Disney already so nicely captured in the Lion King. My feeling is the whole industrial revolution and consumer society a step too far and we pollute and misuse as our own world with its immense natural beauty and all its inhabitants. The Lion King is already nicely explained to Simba: "You must have respect for everything around you from the crawling ant to the antelope who jumps around." Actually, the whole nature already in balance and we are now making a mess all together. Obviously everyone goes his own way and everyone is free to do, leave and think what you want. Still, I hope to inspire people might pay more attention to everything around you and do things consciously (or not do) ... The tour got me thinking and I decided to stay a little longer in the jungle (after I first it had walked to the exit so I knew my way back, I really do at family home so do not worry!). When I was at a waterfall to enjoy was the nature and was still a little pondering arrived three boys of my age from the jungle. I got to talking with them and now appeared to be that one of them had lived for a year in the jungle in a yoga community. I was very curious how it was there and I decided to go along to watch, maybe I could also stay there for a while. I do not plan so all options are open .. Really incredibly nice and cool how people as their own perma culture have built up in the jungle. All natural, vegan food, one with nature. But a bridge too far for me. I saw already a list of all rules and there I hated again. Just let me follow my own intuition and do my own thing. I think it's very important to follow your own intuition, if you have good intentions, everything exactly your way when you need it. This may be a less fun lesson or something beautiful that you just put your mind to have. I've tried with this blog you bring in my adventure. During the tour a jungle girl trying to make a picture of her friend said, "you can not capture the beauty." It is difficult, the beauty of the nature, or to record the life on the pictures, but it is also difficult to describe it. I did my best but I encourage everyone still mostly self-searching adventure. June 3 I am in Hollanda, my last few weeks I will spend more in Mexico. I'm really looking forward to see all the people again and to get started, a little further removed from nature but certainly with some jungle luggage. The adventures of my last weeks I come for those who want to tell personally. Thanks for your lovely comments and reading! Follow your heart, your intuition and go consciously discover your own adventure. The world is so beautiful, let's keep it that way :) Hakuna matata! (To keep it in jungle terms) Again, this was a great land Belize - Tranquila My adventure with Chantal we end up in Belize, a Caribbean island with charm all its own again. (To keep it in jungle terms)
