Cafe Maya is one of my favourite places - not just in Zipolite, but ever. From the absolutely delicious sushi (yeah, you can sit on the beach in Mexico eating sushi - feel amazed yet?!) to the glorious hammocks to laze in, this place is awesome. I camped there for a month (and had stayed there a year previous as...More

Went there for lunch. Good quality food prepared à la minute. Great for breakfast and lunch on the beach. Kate, the owner is from Minnesota and has been in Zipolite for years. She is a very charming and down-to-earth woman as most people are in this town. She's perfectly bilingual and very helpful. Free wi-fi if that is important to...More

Kate likes to cook healthy food with good ingredients and the omelette with chorizo was especially tasty. We arrived a bit early for the bread that she normally cooks herself...More

Carol and her husband are such nice people and great customers, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear they found me here on Trip Advisor and hailed a cab from the neighboring town of Puerto Angel to come HERE to eat breakfast, of all places on the beach! Thanks to this fact, I have made two new friends who have...More

We walked along the beach searching for a place to get surf lessons. We stumbled upon Cafe Maya, a really nice and idyllic place on a more quite place on the beach. We were welcomed as if we were family, drunk a beer, agua frutales and did surf lessons the next day, Ray and his friend teached us the complete...More

This is one of my favorite places on the planet to watch the sunset over the ocean, and appreciate the ever changing waves. This cafe is so small and casual that you would never guess that they serve amazing food- but they do! Try the shrimp coconut curry, yum. The person next to me said that their sushi was better...More

Kate and her husband Ray run this place and they do a great job. We rented the upstairs cabana for two weeks in February 2015 and it was so much fun. Kate is a wonderful cook and we really enjoyed the meals we had there. I loved that they made real coffee!!
