Another look at the waves in Puerto Escondido…then, we’ll move on to another wave rich area on the Mexican mainland…

The waves in Puerto Escondido don’t have to be board and neck snapping beach break barrels to have fun…nowadays, surfers on those out of control days are being towed in…but, it’s still a challenging and dangerous wave even below double overhead…
We’re taking the liberty to redefine the last couple of weeks flat spell as the subject line suggests, leading up to today’s total flatness of surf…winter is going out like a lamb with 10 days officially left…
The good news is that the Southern Hemisphere is starting to come to life…hopefully, that means warmer water and playful swells…
I remember jumping on a plane to go to the “Mexican Pipeline”…Puerto Escondido’s Playa Zicatela…chasing an early Southern Hemisphere swell during one of these flat spells, to be met by some incredibly hard breaking, board and neck snapping beach break barrels…careful what you ask for…;-)
