A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

I post WWW Oaxaca, Mexico, Zipolite and areas nearby information. Also general budget, backpacker, surfer, off the beaten path, Mexico and beyond, information.

REMEMBER: Everyone is welcome at Zipolite.

Hello World! Today Dogs of Puerto Angel will pay 500 pesos (27 USD) to sterilize this abandoned female dog in Zipolite who is at high risk of getting pregnant and having puppies on the street.
I've just paid my latest vet account with my local vet Christian which came to 13,500 pesos (730 USD). This was to pay for the recent sterilizations of dogs and cats in our community that are not my own.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, vet Christian offers sterilizations, so we take the most vulnerable animals that are at risk of getting pregnant and contributing to the overpopulation problem on the Oaxaca coast.
My tiny one-woman non-profit organization doesn't receive funding from the government or big businesses. We rely 100% on donations from kind individuals who want to help the animals here.
Please sponsor one sterilization so that we can continue to transform lives and make the Oaxaca coast a safer place for the animals and people who live here.
I work full-time as a teacher, so I can't post every time we sterilize an animal or take them to the vet for urgent care. But I'm always on the ground fighting this good fight day in and day out when I'm not at work.
You can donate funds directly to us or you can leave your donation with vet Christian to put towards our account. You can donate cat and dog food, cat sand, and kitten or puppy formula. Or you can simply share our post with loved ones who might like to help our animals.
Thank you for your support for this beautiful cause. 🙏🏽❤️🐾
