The Penthouse is a private residence on the top floor of the Bungalows
Oasis Hotel on Calle Bugambilia. It overlooks Zicatela Beach on the famous Mexican Pipeline, one of the top ten surfing beaches in the world. Considered to be the best Penthouse view in all of Puerto Escondido, it offers a sweeping 360 degree view of Puerto and the ocean, downtown and the three bays, and from the lighthouse at El Faro in the west to the lighthouse at La Punta in the east. It overlooks lush grounds including a central garden with many varieties of palm and flowering plants.
The Penthouse is entered through a completely mirrored foyer. It
opens into an expansive living/dining area with glass walls on three sides and an unobstructed view of the ocean, town, and forests. The dining/living area offers a new sectional black leather couch, hammocks, a dining room table, computer desk, DVD and flat screen TV.
The kitchen is state-of-the-art with a stainless steel oven and full
sized refrigerator. Appliances include microwave, juicer, toaster,
coffee maker, and blender. Included are all cooking utensils,
silverware and matching service for eight.
Just outside the glass doors facing the ocean is the palapa-covered veranda with separate dining, barbecue and lounging areas. The focal point of the veranda is a massive, hand-carved Parota wood dining table with matching chairs and seating for six. The palapa cover above allows tenants to choose between the glorious sun and the cool shade as they enjoy a sweeping view of Zicatela Beach. During the day there is a constant on-shore wind rising up from the ocean, bringing cooling breezes and the smell of the surf. At night you can see both lighthouses, El Faro and La Punta, signaling the ships at sea. The veranda offers an excellent view of migrating whales, jumping manta rays, dolphins and fishing vessels, as well as surfers catching waves from dawn to dusk.
At the opposite end of the Penthouse are three bedrooms and a fully mirrored bathroom with a huge walk-in shower. Each of the bedrooms has screens, fans, and air conditioning, as well as a flat screen TV.
The largest corner bedroom has a king size bed and dresser and a view of the beach. Both of the other bedrooms have double beds and modern, custom-built closets and desk/dresser combinations. Each bedroom is decorated in a unique Mexican motif using local textiles and pottery.
The Penthouse is located just three blocks from a pristine beach with some of the best surfing in the world. It is also only six blocks
from a thriving beach community that stretches along Playa Zicatela.
Here you will find businesses that include restaurants, shops, and
clubs, offering everything from International cuisine to world famous carved Oaxacan art.
Complimentary maid service is provided once a week. Guests can arrange for additional services, such as cooking and shopping services, at a minimal cost. For your safety and peace of mind the Penthouse property is part of a locked, walled compound with an on-site manager and security guard. Off-street parking is available, as well as secure storage for our return guests.
On-site staff can offer surf lessons, exercise training, and taxi
service to and from the airport. The local turtle museum, iguanario, evening turtle releases, bird watching at Laguna Seca and surfing at Chacaua are just a few of the unique sightseeing opportunities that the area provides.
