A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

I post WWW Oaxaca, Mexico, Zipolite and areas nearby information. Also general budget, backpacker, surfer, off the beaten path, Mexico and beyond, information.

REMEMBER: Everyone is welcome at Zipolite.

Zipolite prepares and invites to its 2024 Nudist Meeting

Zipolite prepares and invites to its 2024 Nudist Meeting

#Puchutla Jan 22 (#Istmopress) –To break myths, celebrate art and exhibit the diversity of the human body, tourists and locals prepare for the Nudist Meeting 2024, on Zipolite beach, located on the Oaxacan coast.

In this festival, participants carry out activities such as therapy through dance, temazcales, groundhog workshops, meditation, yoga, Bodypaint and other artistic events. The meeting will take place
from January 31 to February 4, and three thousand people are expected to attend.

According to Juan Castañeda, organizer of the meeting and president of the Bi Sheeladi civil association, the objective of the event is to have a place where nudists from the country and foreigners can gather; Likewise, it is a way of speaking to the media to make known what nudism is and what it consists of, because prejudices still exist.

The meeting considers a nudist calendar, known as Velaria Nudista, in which they will parade
through the streets and the beach of Zipolite in the company of residents and municipal authorities. Also, the beach is going to become a human art gallery, where attendees will immerse themselves in body painting, express their creativity in a unique way and showcase the diversity of the human body.

This event not only encourages body acceptance, it also celebrates beauty in its various shapes and sizes, says Castañeda.

The festival organizers highlight the importance of promoting respect and tolerance, with an inclusive environment where nudity is accepted without prejudice. This event emphasizes that nudism does not have sexual connotations, but rather seeks to foster acceptance and connection with nature and among participants.

Although the Zipolite nudist event has been the subject of controversy in the past, most local residents support it, recognizing its positive impact on the local economy with 18 million pesos in and around Zipolite, as well as promoting sustainable tourism.

The Zipolite nudist gathering stands as an example of a community coming together to celebrate diversity and bodily freedom in a stunning natural setting.

Castañeda recommends following the rules during the event to have a pleasant meeting: the beach is nudist but the town is not, that is, the beach will be the meeting place for those who wish to be naked, however, when attending a restaurant or local town, will leave with clothes. On the other hand, it is recommended that those who wish to attend the beach and not get naked do not take photos or videos.

With another edition, the beaches of Zipolite are that refuge for those seeking to escape from conventional social norms and immerse themselves in a unique experience of connection with themselves and with nature.

In Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico, the Nudist Gathering has been held since 2016 to celebrate bodily freedom and acceptance. Juan Castañeda mentions that, over the years, Zipolite has established itself as a renowned nudist tourist destination in its own right; However, the festival has attracted visitors from all over the world seeking a unique and liberating experience.
