A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

When it comes to talking about the most beautiful beaches in Mexico , those that live on the Oaxacan coast cannot go unnoticed. Their natural beauty is incomparable wherever you look at them, they are also an excellent option for vacations, spending a few quiet and relaxed days and a great connection with nature. Although Puerto Escondido, Mazunte, Huatulco and Zipolite are generally the destinations that receive the most visitors year after year, there are other coasts that are just as beautiful, but with much fewer tourists. One of them is Estacahuite , a beach in Oaxaca , which will make you fall in love with the color of its turquoise blue waters .

This beach in Oaxaca is located just 20 minutes from Puerto Ángel and 50 minutes from Huatulco. Estacahuite is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the Oaxacan coast , which attracts the attention of its visitors for the tone of its turquoise blue waters and the tranquility of its waves. It is also very easy to access it, either on your own or by hiring a tour in which you will get to know not only this beach, but also the bays of Huatulco.

Due to the tranquility of its tide and its crystal clear waters , on this beach in Oaxaca you can swim, see the fish destinations that inhabit the region, take group boat rides or simply walk and feel the soft sand on your feet. Likewise, in this place you can relax, enjoy the most spectacular sunsets or simply enjoy the delicious warmth of the coast . As if that were not enough, Estacahuite has palapas around it, where you can rest and eat delicious seafood dishes.
