A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

I post WWW Oaxaca, Mexico, Zipolite and areas nearby information. Also general budget, backpacker, surfer, off the beaten path, Mexico and beyond, information.

REMEMBER: Everyone is welcome at Zipolite.

 Can you name this drink?
Hi All,
The first time we were in Huatulco we stayed @ The Barcelo. The bartender @ the main bar by the front desk served me a yellow coloured drink served over ice, I think it was a liquor and it had no mix in it. It was just served over ice. Can anyone tell me the name of that drink?

Destination Expert   What's this?
for Huatulco
Was it a clear yellow liquid? Could have been Galliano. What did it taste like?

It was nothing I had ever had before. It was a clear yellow, not Galliano. But that kind of colour. I can't describe what it taste like it was 4+ years ago. I know it was sweeter tasting. I do remember the bartender saying it was a Mexican liquor of some kind.
Was just reading about this drink....http://damiana.net/
Thanks

Hi xplq, What is agavero? Is that a tequila or a liqueur ? It wasn't a tequila, it was a smooth drink served over ice....would like to try it again.
I think this was a Liqueur that I had?
