No damage reported from 5.4 earthquake
Oaxaca tremor was followed by another this morning

An earthquake in Oaxaca Sunday morning registered 5.4 on the Richter scale and was felt as far away as Mexico City. No damage was reported from the tremor, or from another in the same area about 26 hours later.
The epicenter of Sunday’s quake, recorded at 2:11am, was 53 kilometers northeast of San Pedro Pochutla, and 35.3 kilometers deep.
The shaking was reported as moderate by residents of nearby communities such as Xadani, Pochutla and Matatlán and weak by those in Mexico City, according to response data on the U.S. Geological Survey’s earthquakes website.
The quake was followed by another at 4:51am today. It measured 4.7 on the Richter scale and had a depth of 75.8 kilometers. Its epicenter was 50 kilometers northeast of Pochutla.
