A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

The hydrometeorological phenomenon affected 27 municipalities of the entity

The Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) established the Civilian Disaster Relief Plan —Plan DNIIIE— to support the population affected by Hurricane Agatha in the state of Oaxaca.

Three thousand 711 elements of the Mexican Army and Air Force were deployed to reinforce relief and recovery efforts in the municipalities of Puerto Ángel, Zipolite, San Agustín and Mazunte.

There are 13 health cells with 56 specialists for medical attention in Pluma Hidalgo, San Mateo Piñas, Puerto Ángel and San Agustín. One of them is from Elements of 54/o. Infantry Battalion who provide medical consultations to the inhabitants in the municipalities of Santiago Xanica and Tonameca.

The hydrometeorological phenomenon affected 27 municipalities of the entity, so, to attend to this emergency, 190 vehicles, nine planes, eight helicopters, a community kitchen, five tortilla machines, six water treatment plants and four tanks for transporting water were deployed. drinking water, 10 canophile binomials to search for missing and/or deceased persons, and eight temporary shelters were established. 

In the localities, more than seven thousand pantries and nine thousand 540 bottles of water will be delivered in San José Chacalapa, San Juan Ozolotepec, San Pedro Pochutla, among other municipalities. In addition, blankets and mats will be delivered.

And after the effects on the drinking water networks in the municipalities of the Oaxacan coast, four water treatment plants with their cisterns are already being moved, which will be able to produce 18,000 liters of drinking water each to cover the need in the municipalities of Pochutla, Pluma Hidalgo, Santa Maria Huatulco and Puerto Angel.

There is also a special Army brigade for desilting, mud removal, home repair, tree removal, debris removal, and cleaning of public spaces.

El fenómeno hidrometeorológico afectó a 27 municipios de la entidad

La Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (Sedena) estableció el Plan de Auxilio a Civiles en Casos de Desastre —Plan DNIIIE— para apoyar a la población afectada por el paso por el huracán Agatha en el estado de Oaxaca.
 
Se desplegaron tres  mil 711 elementos del Ejército y Fuerza Aérea Mexicanos para reforzar las labores de auxilio y recuperación en los municipios de Puerto Ángel, Zipolite, San Agustín y Mazunte.
 
Hay 13 células de sanidad con 56 especialistas para atención médica en Pluma Hidalgo, San Mateo Piñas, Puerto Ángel y San Agustín. Una de ellas es de Elementos del 54/o. Batallón de Infantería quienes proporcionan consultas médicas a los habitantes en los municipios de Santiago Xanica y Tonameca.
 
El fenómeno hidrometeorológico afectó a 27 municipios de la entidad, por lo que, para atender esta emergencia se desplegaron 190 vehículos, nueve aviones, ocho helicópteros, una cocina comunitaria, cinco 5 tortilladoras, seis plantas potabilizadoras de agua y cuatro cisternas para transporte de agua potable, 10 binomios canófilos para la búsqueda de personas desaparecidas y/o fallecidas y se establecieron ocho refugiotemporales.
 
 
En las localidades se van a entregar más de siete mil despensas y nuev mil 540 botellas de agua en San José Chacalapa, San Juan Ozolotepec, San Pedro Pochutla, entre otros municipios. Además se van a entregar cobijas y colchonetas.
 
Y tras las afectaciones a las redes de agua potable en los municipios de la costa oaxaqueña, ya se trasladan cuatro plantas potabilizadoras de agua con sus cisternas, mismas que podrán producir 18 mil  litros de agua potable cada una para cubrir la necesidad en los municipios de Pochutla, Pluma Hidalgo, Santa María Huatulco y Puerto Ángel.
 
También hay una brigada especial del Ejército para desazolve, remoción de lodo, reparación de viviendas, retiro de árboles, desechos y limpieza de espacios públicos.
