A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

The invention of textile and the material to produce it is to this day a prostitute of human being; their creations speak of their lives, destinies and dreams. Since they not only have economic value, each piece carries a historical, political and cultural value. In the task of making visible the textile identity of Mexico and Latin America, it is for me a pleasure to provide, through the practice of the BELT TELAR, a reflection of resistance that is lived in the original peoples; a textile represents the struggle, culture, rebellion and for this we have to continue weaving the rebellion!!!! We invite you to the waistline workshop this Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00 !!!!.... $150 per class You will learn how to craft and assemble a weave, as well as the use of natural dyes.. Directed to all ages... We're located at the Tallerlajoya about the Zipolite adoquin!!! . . :. Knitting the Rebel Day. :.

La invención del textil y el material para producirlo, es hasta hoy una proeza del ser humano; sus creaciones hablan de sus vidas, destinos y sueños. De ahí que no sólo tengan un valor económico, cada pieza carga un valor histórico, político y cultural.
En la tarea de hacer visible la identidad textil de México y América Latina, es para mi un placer brindar, a través de la práctica del TELAR DE CINTURA, un reflejo de resistencia que se vive en los pueblos originarios; un textil representa la lucha, la cultura, la rebelión y para ello hay que seguir TEJIENDO LA REBELDÍA!!!!
