They install video surveillance cameras in Puerto Ángel and Zipolite

SAN PEDRO POCHUTLA, Oaxaca.- To reduce the crime rate in the area and guarantee better security conditions for visitors, residents and service providers, security cameras will be installed linked to the Control and Command Center (C2) of San Pedro Pochutla , in Zipolite and Puerto Ángel.
As part of a comprehensive security plan for the tourist area and in response to requests made by providers and residents to reinforce surveillance and containment actions, in the face of a series of robberies that have been registered, particularly in Zipolite, municipal authorities in coordination with the Secretariat of Public Security of the state of Oaxaca, they announced the installation of monitoring points with connection to the C2 and the 911 emergency number.
In a meeting with businessmen and merchants on the nudist beach, the director of municipal Public Security, Michel Tanuz Cruz, reported on the purpose and way in which the security cameras will operate in conjunction with the Control and Command Center, which will lead to a quick and timely response from security corporations, direct attention to emergencies and inhibition of criminal acts.
"The cameras that have been placed cover several streets and have a rotation of almost 360 degrees that give the coverage we need in the strategic points of Puerto Ángel and Zipolite. The Oaxaca Seguro program of the SSP has a modality called 'alert neighborhood 'and that it consists that both individuals and establishments can link their video surveillance system to C2, which will lead to a prompt response to any call, "he said.
Safe environments for quiet destinations
For her part, the mayor Saymi Pineda Velasco stressed that as a government it is essential to create spaces for the training and development of children and young people to prevent them from being part of the ranks of crime; For this reason, he announced that an eco-park will be built next year and before the current administration ends, the Zipolite toy library will be delivered completed and equipped.
Likewise, he informed that the procedures are already being carried out for the state government to rehabilitate the highway that leads from Puerto Ángel to San Antonio, Tonameca, as he assured, "it is useless to have so many investors if there is not good connectivity."
Pineda Velasco urged the players in the sector to work on a tourism agenda in the coming days that includes Puerto Ángel as a second development pole, with security as one of the main axes.
The representative of the SSP of Oaxaca, Marcos López Alderete, explained that the first two cameras have been placed in the tourist strip on the Zipolite pavement and the entrance to Panteón beach.
They will keep a record of photos and videos
He explained that establishments that already have video surveillance cameras will be able to connect with the C2 and 911 in a simple way - taking into account the compatibility between cameras and mobile phones - and in the event that the link is made, SSP personnel will be able to give maintenance of the devices or suggest to those who are going to acquire video equipment, about the best options that guarantee their proper functioning.
The official affirmed that C2 will keep the record of the shots and videos of criminal acts, so that individuals will not have to deliver copies of the recordings in the event of an investigation, as the instance will be in charge of being the link with the authorities.
Currently, 17 video surveillance cameras have been installed in the streets of the population center of Pochutla, which are permanently monitored by C2 personnel.
