A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

I post WWW Oaxaca, Mexico, Zipolite and areas nearby information. Also general budget, backpacker, surfer, off the beaten path, Mexico and beyond, information.

REMEMBER: Everyone is welcome at Zipolite.

According to the National Association of Pharmacies, the manufacture of masks has become a multibillion dollar business.

 La Jornada newspaper,
Monday, April 19, 2021, p. 12

I don't know why, some of my close friends consider me too obsessive compulsive / obsessive compulsive / obsessive / compulsive type. They repeated it to me when I commented to them that this column would address, once again, some collateral problems of the pandemic to which, inexplicably, I feel that they have not been given due importance. We ignore, for example, not only important but horrifying data about the irrational war between the irresponsible and dehumanized global pharmaceutical companies, greedy for profit and utterly disinterested in individual human beings and, not even, humanity as a whole.

Just on January 10, 2021, Braulio Carbajal, as is his custom, surprised us with the following information: pharmaceutical companies increased their market value by almost 90 billion dollars, that is, almost three times more than the 653 thousand 400 million pesos that the Mexican government had projected last year for the health sector.

The 1.7 trillion pesos that, in market value, the pharmaceutical companies earned, are equivalent to 27% of the 6.2 trillion pesos that, according to the Ministry of Finance, would be the country's income in 2021.

Sandra Hernández and Alejandro Cruz venture into the popular social sections and tell us about the latest garment that has evolved the attire of 80% of the country's inhabitants, including, of course, the ragged people of the land and members of the Zipolite nudist camps. and Yerbabuena in Oaxaca or El Secreto in Guerrero. It turns out that, according to the National Association of Pharmacies, the manufacture of face masks has become a multi-million dollar business because, although the average cost per piece is not very high, its constant replacement means a production of millions of pieces per month and, therefore , a considerable sum of money. As ingenuity and creativity emerged, they were soon on the chins of hundreds of citizens. I saw a Diego Fernández de Cevallos with a long beard that included a legend: “thug, misogynist but very catholic. Viruses don't give me a fucking colic ”. I also recognized all the Marvel heroes in the juvenile jaws and applauded a grandmother who brought her own portrait printed on the mask that was shaped like a large scapular with the legend: “Vade Retro satanavirus, the heart of Jesus is with Mirus ”. She explained to me, talking about Ladito, that she was a faithful believer in scapulars and stopped them, because her grandfather had been a companion of none other than Anacleto González Flores (he loved that I knew, as good the heart of Jesus is with Mirus ”. She explained to me, talking about Ladito, that she was a faithful believer in scapulars and stopped them, because her grandfather had been a companion of none other than Anacleto González Flores (he loved that I knew, as good the heart of Jesus is with Mirus ”. She explained to me, talking about Ladito, that she was a faithful believer in scapulars and stopped them, because her grandfather had been a companion of none other than Anacleto González Flores (he loved that I knew, as goodAcejotaemero in my adolescence, who had been this lawyer from Guadalajara considered a martyr by the participants of the Cristiada). The Mirus thing was not to make a bad verse but because that's what they tell me at home, he clarified.

Well, the fact is that masks became a world industry. They are produced with all kinds of materials and are sold in public transport, street shops and obviously through the networks, that is why Time Square enchants the colors of the Mexican southeast. Well, despite what has been said, face masks, no matter how millionaire their production, are peccata minuta in the pandemic businesses.

Let me advance you some topics for next Monday (God willing). The pandemic and the business for billionaires in the US. The concentration in a minority of the world population of the number of vaccines applied. The lack of materials necessary for the production of a greater and urgent number of vaccines and etc., and etc. Do you find interesting topics for the following week?

I am not fond of issuing forecasts, especially since I generally hit the bad ones and fan the good ones. It is understandable that I do not want to become a bird of ill omen, but today an exception: Lilia Rossbach is going to be a splendid ambassador. I dare to affirm because, my relative, the once wet and today migrant, would say: I have the hair in my hand . I do not mention them now because these days Rossbach is going to be buried in a torrent of praise, flattery and proposals and, who would believe it, some will even be sincere. Also of the other will be the disqualifications, the invectives, the bile spilled by envy and the friendly and fraternal and, of course, sibylline grudges.

The future Mexican ambassador will be a welcome gesture of friendship with the Argentine people.
