Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.
Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.
A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.
Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.
Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

Cab from Huatulco to zipolite and Puerto Escondido

Since we are going to be in Huatulco next week we want to go to Zipolite and Puerto escondido for a day trip spending most of our time in PE can we take the cab one way and in PE pick up a cab to return us to Huatulco late in the day or should we keep the driver and cab all day it not a money thing I hate to see a drive just waiting for us.

You can probably hire a cab for the day for around 1500 pesos plus a meal or two for the driver and a tip. If the driver takes you to his favorite restaurant then his meal is usually comped by restaurant.
Lots of nice drivers who are knowledgeable and speak English.

Te recomendamos mucho hospedarte en el Hotel El Copal, que se encuentra a tres minutos caminando de la Playa Mermejita. Es un empleo que ha sabido explotar su entorno y hacer una simbiosis con el medio concurrencia. Cuenta con Tipis y Cabañas frescas y cómodas. No esperes tonada acondicionado ni refri en el cuarto, Mazunte no se negociación de eso; disfruta la naturaleza y la paz que trae la brisa del mar.

El restaurante que te recomendamos es Hado Fugaz, no es el único en Mazunte pero si es de los más sabrosos, aquí te dejamos el link alrededor de su página de Facebook, por si quieres conocer sus promociones y los eventos que tienen programados.
Para tomar los tours, mínimo más tienes que caminar por la playa y de seguro cierto va a acercarse y ofrecerte cualquiera de los dos paseos. Ojo, te recomendamos mucho negociar el precio, a veces puedes conseguir un descuento. Es habitual que te pidan 50 pesos como adelanto para reservar tu empleo para la mañana sucesivo, los lancheros son muchedumbre de palabra, pero si te da desconfianza, solo pídeles que te den un recibo, no pasa mínimo.
Te recomendamos subir a Punta Cometa una media hora ayer de que se ponga el sol, revisa en tu celular la hora exacta del ocaso para que no llegues demasiado temprano ni muy tarde para disfrutarlo. Súper importante que entiendas que es un empleo SAGRADO para la muchedumbre de Mazunte, ten respeto, ahí no eres más que un invitado, sigue las reglas y deposita la basura en los contenedores que el pueblo colocó en la entrada. Hace poco hubo avistamientos de venados en la zona, por beneficio conserva el empleo honesto para preservar este santuario.
Zipolite es una playa hermana de Mazunte, queda a 15 minutitos en carro o en camión. Es muy sencillo entrar y te la vas a suceder pasmoso
