#LasCantorasdelaCostaOaxaqueña are a group of women from different parts of the world, residing in the communities of #PuertoÁngel, #Zipolite, #SanAgustinillo and #Mazunte of this region of the State of Oaxaca.

#LasCantorasdelaCostaOaxaqueña son una agrupación de mujeres provenientes de diferentes partes del mundo, residentes en las comunidades de #PuertoÁngel, #Zipolite, #SanAgustinillo y #Mazunte de esta región del Estado de Oaxaca. La conforman mujeres originarias de México, Estados Unidos, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, España, Inglaterra, Francia, República Checa, Eslovaquia y Australia. Surge en el 2019 a partir de la necesidad creativa, impulsada por Lorraine Krohnengold, de formar un ensamble coral femenino y se convoca a la maestra Isabel Tercero (nacida en Nueva Orleans, de padres nicaragüenses) a dirigirlo. Desde entonces y hasta la fecha trabajan en un amplio repertorio de música del mundo y en muy diversos géneros, en aquel dedicado a la música latinoamericana colaboran con virtuosos percusionistas en temas que abarcan el candombe, la cumbia, la samba y el son, entre otros. Actualmente trabajan en un repertorio de folklor afroamericano. Dentro de sus objetivos está el compartir la cultura y la sanación a través del poder de la música creada por voces de mujeres en las comunidades en las que radican y donde quiera que haya un oído dispuesto a escucharlas

#LasCantorasdelaCostaOaxaqueña are a group of women from different parts of the world, residing in the communities of #PuertoÁngel, #Zipolite, #SanAgustinillo and #Mazunte of this region of the State of Oaxaca. It is made up of women from Mexico, the United States, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Spain, England, France, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Australia. It arises in 2019 from the creative need, driven by Lorraine Krohnengold, to form a female choral ensemble and the teacher Isabel Tercero (born in New Orleans, of Nicaraguan parents) is called to direct it. Since then and to date they have worked on a wide repertoire of world music and in very diverse genres, in the one dedicated to Latin American music they collaborate with virtuoso percussionists on themes that include candombe, cumbia, samba and son, among others. . They are currently working on a repertoire of Afro-American folklore. Among its objectives is the sharing of culture and healing through the power of music created by the voices of women in the communities in which they live and wherever there is an ear willing to listen to them.
