Nudies and Hippies

Our next stop on the Pacific coast was Zipolite, a town famous since the 60´s for being a nudest beach. We heard that the nakedness stayed in one corner of the beach, and that the town was worth a visit, so we booked a reservation at a beautiful hilltop bungalow. Our room was a lovely little home with a kitchen, ocean view, and lots of kitties to play with. Although the beach was long and beautiful, we found that the old naked men were hard to escape from, so we mainly stuck to our hilltop quarters.
Next we moved a few kilometers down the coast to Mazunte, another beautiful beach cove with a strong hippie scene. The beach here was more friendly on the eyes, and the drum banging and fire twirling provided much entertainment. The town packed full of Mexican families for Holy Week (the week leading up to Easter), and the fiestas were nonstop. We indulged in some buckets of Mojitos and Micheladas a couple nights as well, but mostly just relaxed on the beach and did yoga.
