From January 31 to February 4 of this year, the Nudist Meeting at Nud Zipolite 2024 will be held, which will bring together more than 3 thousand nudists from throughout the national territory and more than 18 countries.

Over the course of 8 editions, this event was organized as a Festival, and starting this year a meeting space was created for the nudist community to promote coexistence and interaction between different nudist groups that share a taste for nature. , art and freedom.

One of the main objectives of enNud is the socialization of the practice of nudism, driven by values ​​such as tolerance and respect, which undoubtedly contributes to strengthening the tourist influx in the area.

Zipolite Beach is one of the most cosmopolitan places in the State of Oaxaca, which has been positioned on the tourist map as the only public nudist beach in Mexico, legally recognized since 2016.

After identifying an increase in the practice of nudism on beaches in the municipality of Santa María Tonameca in the Oaxaca Coast region , municipal authorities began a restriction campaign by installing signage .

Geovani Ríos Ramírez , municipal director of Civil Protection , reported that the practice of nudism is carried out mainly by foreign visitors and has intensified on the Mazunte , San Agustinillo and Ventanilla beaches - the main tourist corridor in the district.

"On our tours we have detected nudism, we always draw their attention because sometimes there are boys or girls, there are foreigners who are not very cautious... and we recommend that they go to Zipolite beach because it is a nudist beach there," he said.

In that sense, he pointed out that with the endorsement of the municipal authorities and tourism service providers, the installation of signs with messages asking not to practice nudism began .

"We put them because sometimes they don't listen to us and we sometimes have to call Public Security to get their attention, the intention is not to give them a bad image but to share with them that they are not nudist beaches," stated the municipal director of Civil protection .

The municipal official emphasized that the measure does not correspond to a restriction on entering the beaches, "tourists can be on the beaches, it is only recommended not to do nudism."

Geovani Ríos Ramírez asserted that this practice intensified throughout last year, during the festivals of Mazunte , San Agustinillo and the Jazz Festival , events that brought together hundreds of visitors.

“They want to make the beaches more liberal, it is uncomfortable for local tourists, they step aside and can no longer enjoy bathing on the beaches,” he noted.
