A little about Playa Zipolite, The Beach of the Dead . . .

Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Southern Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean. A little bit about my favorite little get-away on this small world of ours.

Zipolite, a sweaty 30-minute walk west from Puerto Angel, brings you to Playa Zipolite and another world. The feeling here is 1970's - Led Zep, Marley, and scruffy gringos.

A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They came to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest.

Recently, this beach has begun to receive day-trippers from Puerto Angel and Puerto Escondido, giving it a more TOURISTY feel than before.

Most people come here for the novelty of the nude beach, yoga, turtles, seafood, surf, meditation, vegetarians, discos, party, to get burnt by the sun, or to see how long they can stretch their skinny budget.

I post WWW Oaxaca, Mexico, Zipolite and areas nearby information. Also general budget, backpacker, surfer, off the beaten path, Mexico and beyond, information.

REMEMBER: Everyone is welcome at Zipolite.

Description :
Oaxaca Mexico Puerto Angel Rental Vacation Home Casa Del Graff. What a wonderful place to temporarily call home! This house overlooking the rocky Pacific Ocean coastline of Southern Mexico from three decks all on three different levels is truly an unforgettable experience. After an exhilerating drive over the mountains from Oaxaca City, we got comfortable exploring the "Old West" area from Puerto Angel to Zipolite and Mazunte, each night coming home to a private "home". Very affordable with a very curious oddity such as watching the sunrise on the Pacific Ocean because of the proximity of coastline. Find it by googling the name in the video title with location. Upon leaving, we drove up the coast through Puerto Escondido to Acapulco. Incredible road trip starting and ending at the airport in Mexico City. I could get in the front door and roll through the house to the bedroom and out on the deck but could not go down to the first floor stairs and could not get in the bathroom but I was so excited about getting to stay there it was no problem to pour gallons of water over my self in my wheelchair out on the deck to take a bath! Incredible spot for a vacation destination!
